The preparer is the man in the arena you are often tasked with more than you can do, and some of those transactions might result in lengthy research, voluminous whitepapers and be time consuming. They are tough. Think VIEs, complex instruments, ASU adoptions, SEC positions and more. None of these are easy and often those outside the accounting profession don’t understand that a transaction might require more time to document than drafting the original paperwork. We get it. It’s hard and tough to start when you have so many things on your plate. Multi-tasking when you just “need a day or two of focus to do the research and put your thoughts down” can turn it into that thing that you just can’t get to.
